Angelena Bonet is an Australian multi-award-winning documentary filmmaker, singer-songwriter, actress, and humanitarian. Founder & CEO of Crystal Heart Productions, she creates every aspect of her films and original soundtracks — writing, directing, editing, producing, and performing her music — describing her work as “a labour of love.”
Her six documentary films and two web series, Heart Of The Matter and The Angelena Bonet Show, have won over 400 international awards, including Best Inspirational Film, Best Social Justice Film, Best Original Song, and Best Original Soundtrack. She is also the recipient of the Humanitarian Award (Jane Austen International Film Festival, UK), Human Spirit Award (DOCS Without Borders, Bahamas), and the Grand Prix | Best Woman Director (Nicomedia International Film Awards, Turkey).
Angelena’s creative journey began with her late fiancé, Erick Deeby, who wrote and recorded instrumental music for her between 2005 and 2007. Following his sudden passing just three days after their engagement, she completed their songs by writing the lyrics and melodies during her deepest grief. These tracks now form the heart of her award-winning soundtracks, including the signature song Tragic Fairytale.
A former international model and actress, Angelena appeared on billboards in New York City and throughout Australia, graced numerous magazine covers, and worked in television, film, and hosting roles in Australia, North America, and Europe.
Her life took a new direction in 2012 after surviving a violent crime while visiting Australia. Retiring from modelling, she embraced her true calling as a filmmaker, musician, and women’s rights advocate, founding Crystal Heart Productions to give women and girls around the world a platform to share their voices.
Today, Angelena continues to inspire through her films, music, public speaking, and advocacy, sharing a message of resilience, self-love, and hope. She believes that “love and forgiveness really are the keys — they can and do conquer all.”

Angelena has aligned herself with numerous non-profit organisations that support women and girls. After the horrific crime that almost took her life in May, 2012 she knew she wanted to ease other's pain and help empower other women and protect girls and future generations. The Angelena Bonet Show has covered many events both in Australia and Canada and is committed to shining a light on important issues that humanity is yet to resolve. She has interviewed global women's rights leaders such as Tina Tchen (CEO Time’s Up/President Obama's Women's Equality Advisor), Paulette Senior (CEO of Canadian Women's Foundation) and Tony award-winning playwright and activist, Eve Ensler, Founder of the V Day One Billion Rising Organisation. Angelena feels honoured to lend her voice and connect with such incredibly kind and selfless people and stand with causes close to her heart.
